Our Cabin Rental Policies

You must be at least 21 years old to rent a 4 person cabin or smaller. Anyone under 21 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. If the cabin sleeps 5 or more everyone must be at least 25 to stay at the cabin unless you are a related family member, in other words families with kids are fine, but groups of 17-24 year old that are not related are not (we do not want wild parties). We do not allow parents to rent cabins for their 17-24 year old children and their friends.

If you would like to call me and pay a $1,000 refundable Security Deposit, then please feel free to do so. If more people are at the cabin than what was paid for you will be asked to leave immediately without refund. If the police need to be called you will be asked to leave without refund.
Please refer to the individual cabin pages for rates.

A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking unless and 50% is due 30 days before arrival (you can call Beth and ask to pay the last 50% upon arrival)unless it is less than 30 days from arrival, in which case full payment is due at time of booking. A 13.25% lodging/sales tax is added to rates.

We prefer Debit cards and allow customized payment plans if you use one, otherwise we accept, MasterCard, American Express, Visa, Discover, cash, check and Venmo App.

Weekend stays require both Friday and Saturday nights. If you choose a Thursday/Friday or Saturday/Sunday stay both nights will be charged at the weekend rate.
WEEKEND DAYS ARE FRIDAY, SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. When you start your stay on Sunday you get the Weekday Rate. In the Peak Season Thursday, Friday and Saturday stays are all at the weekend rate.

Layaway Program

You must use a DEBIT CARD, you may put down $100 at the time of booking and make weekly, bi-weekly or monthly payments. just tell Beth how you want to set up the plan in the Special Needs box at the time of booking, otherwise she will charge you half at the time of booking or more if it is less than 30 days from arrival.
NOTHING IS CHARGED AUTOMATICALLY, BETH DOES ALL THE CHARGES.
You will need to have at least half of the total paid at 30 days before arrival. Stays that are less than 30 days are not eligible for layaway.

One night stays

One night stays are only allowed under the following circumstances:
You may book the day of arrival,or there is only one night available(the day before and after are already booked). It is not a bad idea to call Beth and ask, if it is a weekday you are looking for. A $30-$100 fee applies to all one night stays. We ONLY do 1 night stays at SMALLER select cabins.
There is also a 2-3 night minimum on all stays in Peak Season June 1- Nov. 7th.

Holidays are usually charged at the weekend rate or higher. A 2-4 night minimum is required for the following Holidays: New Years, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Presidents Day and Christmas or any Federal holiday where the banks are closed. The holiday rate for the 4 bedroom cabins is $599 per night for up to 12 guests.

Cancellations

  • 60 days or more is a full refund less $100.
  • 30-60 days is a 50% loss of the total
  • less than 30 days is no refund.
  • There are no exceptions to this policy, not weather, not family emergencies.
  • NO REFUND FOR EARLY DEPARTURE FOR ANY REASON.
  • NO REFUND FOR INCLEMENT WEATHER OR POWER OUTAGES, FOR ANY REASON.

In the event of a Government shutdown due to a pandemic, we will issue a Rain check which is a credit for a future stay, there will be some blackout dates in the summer and holidays, you will always be able to book a stay the day before arrival at anytime during the year.

Check In and Check Out

You may arrive at your cabin any time after 3:30 pm (Cabin at the Cavern, Fox Den and Foxhollow all have a 4:00 check in). A combination lock box containing keys will be mounted at the door. You will be given the combination and specific directions to your cabin.
EARLY ARRIVAL MUST BE PAID FOR IN ADVANCE. EARLY ARRIVAL IS 1:30.
NO ONE WILL BE ALLOWED INTO THEIR CABIN EARLY FOR ANY REASON UNLESS PRIOR NOTICE AND PAYMENT HAS BEEN ARRANGED.
Late check out or early check in is $40-$100 depending on size of cabin.

Check Out is 11:00 am. Please Wash your dishes and place trash in the correct receptacles. Please take all used sheets and towels and place them in a pile. Please secure the cabin before departure and return the key to the lock box. Extra keys may be placed on the kitchen table. There is a $50 charge for lost keys.

Occupancy and Housekeeping

All cabins have cookware, dinnerware, towels, bedding, linens, dish soap, hand soap and toilet paper.

All cabins have Central heat and air.
Occupancy is limited to the maximum number of guests accommodated by each cabin.

Pets are allowed only at cabins specified as PET FRIENDLY- RETREAT CABINS 1 AND 2 and RETREAT APARTMENTS 1 and 2, HAPPY HIPPIE, WILLOW TREE, CELTIC COTTAGE, HONEY BEE, KOOL BREEZE, SPICEWOOD, GONE FISHIN, STONE SETTLER, HIDDEN VALLEY, THE PERCH, GATSBY, OWL CREEK, JUNEBUG, AND RETROVILLE ONLY.

Pet fee is $50-$100″(PET FEE IS $30 at Retreat cabins) depending on cabin.
Limit 3 pets per cabin.
There will be a $500 charge plus damages if pets are brought into non-pet friendly cabins or lodge.

Horses are permitted Retreat cabins with 740 acres of riding area. Must have management approval,
$50-$100 pet fee applies per stay.
You must bring your own pen, there are no horse facilities here.

Paid Guests Only, please. If you are planning on having people stop by, we charge $15 per person.
Management must be notified in advance.

Smoking is not allowed inside the cabins or lodge. You are welcome to smoke outside. Ashtrays are provided.
PLEASE RESPECT OUR PROPERTIES AND PLACE BUTTS IN ASHTRAYS NOT ON THE GROUND.
There is a $100 charge plus damages for smoking in the buildings. They are made of logs and retain the odor of smoke.

We treat our cabins for pests but remember the cabins are in the woods and you may encounter insects.
Fun Fact: we do not get cockroaches here in the country but we do get woodroaches (they look the same), they do not carry disease and they do not infest cabins (they like the woods). You may come across one in the cabin. Also we put out mice bait behind stoves and refrigerators but in the winter those guys get in through a 1/2″ opening at ALL cabins in Hocking Hills(if anyone tells you different…).

The cutting down of trees is strictly prohibited and will result in a $100 fine, regardless of whether tree is dead or alive.

We provide linens, pillows, towels(not paper), toilet paper, trash bags, dish washing detergent and gas for outside grills. We do not provide charcoal for charcoal grills or firewood.

Please notify our office of any damages, shortages, or housekeeping issues upon arrival

On rare occasions appliances, hot tubs, fireplaces, etc. can malfunction. We will do our best to service these amenities as soon as possible, just call the office at 740-331-4840.

In the event of a loss outside of our control such as time without electricity, water, satellite TV, etc. we cannot make any rental concessions. However, we will respond as soon as possible to restore these amenities.

We will do our very best to have your cabin ready for you by 3:30 pm. Due to cleaning and servicing your hot tub may not be at full temperature when you arrive and may need several hours to heat.

We will respond as soon as possible to clear snow and ice from driveways. However, four- wheel- drive is recommended in Winter at some cabins.

We ask that you follow all guidelines and policies regarding use of amenities and property restrictions.

Policies and rates are subject to change without notice. We reserve the right to charge your credit card for any damages or excessive cleaning required after your stay. We reserve the right to refuse any reservation. The owners and management of Cabins In Hocking assume no responsibility for damages or loss of items belonging to our guests.
